JANAS is pleased to announce the successful completion of a sell-side transaction in Alabama. The client was introduced by Carter Freeman, Chairman of JANAS and a native of Georgia. The transaction was led by Steve Boehm and Stuart Conrad, Managing Directors, responsible for JANAS activities in the Southern region.
JANAS represented the Owner, prepared the
Confidential Information Memorandum,
and participated in the structure
and completion of the transaction.
Southern Classic Food Group, LLC is a leading manufacturer of bottled and packaged mayonnaise, dressings, sauces, and syrups. The Company produces products under its own brand as well as for numerous private label customers across the food service, retail, and industrial sectors. Southern Classic also supports both regional and national brands.
The transaction faced delays due to the COVID-19 pandemic, which created significant supply chain disruptions. Nevertheless, the Company worked with JANAS to position it for a strong and strategic future sale.
The JANAS Team identified the ideal buyer that included the combination of four companies, including Southern Classic, under the name Trillium Foods. Southern Classic operations will expand as an integral member of Trillium Foods. The new entity combines strong manufacturing capabilities and high-quality customers.
The JANAS Team Members Carter Freeman, Stuart Conrad, Steve Boehm – worked closely with Chuck Carraway, CEO, of Southern Classic, and his colleagues. Carter Freeman, Stuart Conrad, and Steve Boehm are registered representatives of JCC Capital Markets. This combination of cooperative teams achieved an aggressive valuation that included the sale of the operating company and the real estate from which Southern Classic operates.
