Dr. Kwok Keung “Kern” Kwong is
the Chairman Asia Pacific of Janas
Associates. Kern has extensive experience as a
Consultant, Investment Banker and Business School Professor.
Educated in Hong Kong and the United States, he applies his vast
network of contacts in China and Hong Kong to support client
initiatives.
Kern consults extensively in the
United States and in Asian Pacific countries. He has consulted on
projects for Saudi Aramco, Southern California Edison, Goldlion
Holdings (U.S.A) and other domestic and international firms. He has
worked on Merger & Acquisition and Corporate Finance assignments for
technology companies, distributors and manufacturers in China and
Hong Kong.
Kern has held executive positions in
several firms in the United States. He managed apparel firms
focusing on high-end casual clothing, and men’s and women’s apparel.
Kern conceived, designed and
implemented the California State University Los Angeles program that
provided Executive Management Training programs for National,
Provincial and Municipal Governments from the Peoples Republic of
China. Attendees were principally middle management employees of
State Owned Enterprises (SOE’s). He directed the training of several
thousand delegates who have traveled from China to California for
more than 15-years to participate in business education courses.
Kern maintains extensive contacts
with his former trainee/students from Asia. Kern maintains a broad
network to identify and support client initiatives in China. He
serves United States based clients who need access to China. He has
also provided training to delegates from other Asian countries,
including Korea, Vietnam and Japan.
Kern holds an M.B.A. in International
Business and a Ph.D. in Operations Management and Strategic
Management. He has taught Operations and Production Management,
Small Business Management, International Business, and Strategic
Management for more than twenty years. Kern is a tenured professor
in the School of Business and Economics at California State
University, Los Angeles.
