Richard E. Gregerson is
President of Janas Associates
and Janas Consulting. He brings
a track record of strategic and financial development of mid-sized
businesses through acquisition and internal growth. His 30 years of
experience has included finance and accounting as CFO and Investment
Banking and Management Consulting. He also has managed award-winning
manufacturing facilities, created successful startups and has
directed a series of lucrative acquisitions. Dick has successfully
competed in the cosmetics and beauty industry, automotive parts and
accessories, industrial products, consumer products packaging, B2B
e-commerce and advertising media.
During his 6-year career at Janas,
Dick has directed a substantial number of consulting and Merger and
Acquisition assignments. He has led transaction in medical
manufacturing, petroleum distribution, specialty products
manufacturing, auto parts manufacturing and distribution, among
others.
Dick gained his post-MBA finance and
acquisition training at W. R. Grace, specializing in consumer and
automotive specialty businesses. At The Allen Group, an automotive
and communications company, he mastered in-depth financial analysis,
operations planning, international taxation and public reporting,
and served in the Controllers Department and as Director of
Planning.
As CFO of The Equion Corporation,
Dick directed seven successful acquisitions that built the company
into a highly profitable, $150 million multi-national. The
shareholders earned $100 million in cash on sale from an initial
investment of $1.3 million.
As CFO of Caliber Packaging, a $150
million national distributor of bottles, caps and closures, Dick
oversaw two acquisitions before negotiating sale of the company.
Dick was a founder of two startup
companies in the beauty industry. He leveraged Liquid U4ea into a
revolutionary B2B education and product information interchange for
the professional beauty market called Style U4ea.com.
Dick has a keen appreciation for the
process of selling and buying businesses from the client
perspective. He holds a Bachelors degree from Yale and an MBA
degree from the Tuck School at Dartmouth College.
