R. Carter Freeman is the Chairman of Janas Associates and Janas Consulting, and is a Certified Management Consultant. He has more than 40-years experience providing solutions to corporate needs. He has advised clients in sell-side and buy-side mergers and acquisitions, complex finance transactions, directed improvement and integration projects, and undertaken turnaround assignments for clients in the United States and abroad.

Carter has consulted with numerous clients in identification, structure and completion of acquisitions, dispositions and mergers. He has successfully identified companies in a variety of businesses for sale and has matched them with acquirers. He has represented buy-side clients in their searches for acquisitions.

Carter has performed merger and acquisition and consulting assignments for numerous companies in manufacturing, the lubricant compounding/blending industry, distribution and service providers, including participation in major roll-up efforts.

As Consulting Practice Manager and Partner of Touche Ross & Co. and Pannell, Kerr, Forster, Carter undertook economic feasibility studies, negotiated transactions, and evaluated projects throughout the Pacific Basin.

As Chief Executive Officer of a public conglomerate, Carter directed expansion and financing.

Carter has organized and led teams of professional firms who perform economic feasibility studies for the governments of the Republic of China (Taiwan), Singapore, and Malaysia. He has prepared numerous studies for the development of projects with total costs in excess of $500 million.

Carter has provided investment banking and consulting services to companies of various types and sizes. His services are particularly valuable because of his wide range of experience and his ability to "ask the right questions to find appropriate answers."

Carter is a member of the Institute of Management Consultants, from whom he received the Certified Management Consultant (CMC) designation in 1973. Carter is a Certified Public Accountant. He is listed in Who’s Who in America. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Emory University, Atlanta. He has taught in the UCLA extension program and has taken numerous continuing professional education courses.
