Joe Feig is a Managing
Director of
Janas Associates.
He has more than 40 years of experience in financial and business
management in diverse industries. He has successfully guided the
growth of privately held companies from startup to public offering
stage and global public companies as a senior financial officer. He
was most recently a founder, CEO and CFO of a women’s contemporary
clothing design and manufacturing company.
Joe was previously CFO and Treasurer
of a venture capital-funded software company. As part of the
management team, he developed an $11 million funding and operating
relationship with a public strategic industry partner. He also
developed a new relationship with one of the top public investment
banking firms leading to a $15 million mezzanine financing.
Joe was Founder and President of a
business/financial Consulting firm that assisted privately held
businesses. Clients included customs brokerage, internet
communications /networking companies, a metals distributor, a
designer and fabricator of retail store interiors, an independent
motion picture company, a refurbisher/re-distributor of copier
machines, a ceramic tile distributor, manufacturer of mountain
bicycle components and a national distributor of automotive parts,
accessories and chemicals.
Services included business planning;
startup, turnaround and growth financing, installing effective
management reporting, developing successful tax strategies, and due
diligence and negotiation of business acquisitions.
Prior to founding the Consulting
firm, Joe was Vice President of Finance and CFO of a venture
capital-funded telecommunications startup. His financial guidance
was key to the company being profitable in its first year with a
successful IPO in its third year of operation. He negotiated and
obtained a trebling of the company’s bank line and an equal amount
of other unsecured debt. Joe established a Hong Kong subsidiary and
designed a favorable tax structure.
Earlier in his career, Joe progressed
through senior operational and financial positions with public
global companies including ARCO, (where he was the youngest
financial manager worldwide), The Allen Group, (Allen Telecom),
other public electronic and oil and gas companies, and an
independent oil and gas company that achieved growth in revenues and
profits of five and nine times, to $250 million and $56 million,
respectively.
Joe earned his M.B.A. with honors
from Boston University and a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from
Columbia University. He is adept at financial analysis and helping
clients improve the preparation and application of financial data.
